‘We Stand With Ukraine’ vigil to be held in Kirkwall
A vigil to show solidarity with Ukraine following Russia’s invasion is to be held tomorrow outside St Magnus Cathedral.
It has been organised by Michelle Green, whose sister is currently trying to cross the Polish border with her three children and mother in law.
Michelle is encouraging attendees to bring a placard or a candle.
She said: “It would be great to get as many people as possible come along and show their support, please bring your friends and family, and of course children are welcome.
“If you can’t attend but would like to show your support, feel free to light a candle in your window or create a placard and post your photo on the event page.”
The vigil will take place tomorrow between 4pm-4.30pm.
