Weather disruptions across the county
Adverse weather is causing disruption to Orkney ferry services today and the council’s recycling collection in the West Mainland.
Pentland Ferries‘ 11.50am sailing from St Margaret’s Hope and 1.30pm sailing from Gills Bay have been cancelled, with further services being reviewed at 3pm.
NorthLink Ferries has advised that crossings on their Pentland Firth route today may be affected by delays, and the 4.45pm from Stromness and the 7pm sailing from Scrabster are under review.
Orkney Ferries outer North Isles service this morning has been cancelled and the afternoon services are under review.
The South Isles — Houton service has been cancelled, however, there are no reported problems on the Graemsay and North Hoy to Stromness service.
The Tingwall service is due to depart Rousay at 5.30pm, and Tingwall at 6.05 later today.
All Shapinsay sailings have been cancelled.
Passengers are advised to check with operators for the latest updates.
Meanwhile, Orkney Islands Council has said the recycling collection carried out on alternate Thursdays in the Evie and Rendall area, and along the Old Finstown Road and surrounding areas, has been cancelled today because of the weather conditions.
