Westray were crowned champions of the North Isles Sports this evening, lifting the Millennium Cup in front of an elated home crowd.

The home side’s total of 104 points was enough to beat closest challengers Sanday, and avenge last year’s defeat to their arch-rivals.

Westray also retained the seniors’ Challenge Cup, while Sanday won the Schools’ Cup on a fiercely competitive day of sporting action.

Sanday’s Aimee Mellors and Lauren Seatter jointly won the best girl cup, while Kyle Brown, also from Sanday, won the best boy.

Westray’s Gaius Bews was a double winner — winning the best man and best adult prizes— while Sanday’s Jodie Drever was named as the competition’s best woman.
