Yacht towed to Stromness by lifeboat
Stromness Lifeboat has returned to port after being called out to assist a yacht west of Orkney this morning.
The crew were paged at 8.45am to go to the assistance of the 43 foot yacht Flying Swiss which was suffering from mechanical problems north-west of Rousay.
There were five crew on board the yacht. Conditions were calm with very little swell, with the lifeboat arriving at the casualty at 9.50am.
The RNLI crew took the yacht under tow to Stromness, arriving at 12.30pm.
• Stromness RNLI are having an open day this Saturday between 2 -4 pm. The lifeboat, lifeboat station, and shop will all be open to the public.
