Bands ready to rock Bonfire Night

Local bands, Bad Apple, Rocker and The Chair, are to join forces tonight, for a Bonfire night triple bill of musical fireworks, in Kirkwall’s Masonic Hall.

Organiser, Douglas Montgomery said that the idea was to put on a night of “good old fashioned Orkney rock and roll” in the heart of Kirkwall, given that bonfire night falls on a Saturday this year.

He said: “We decided to go for a really central venue, and put on a few bands for folk to enjoy, among all the fireworks.

“The Masonic Hall is a good size of venue for a gig like this — plenty of room for dancing, and so we’d love to see a great turnout of folk there,” he added.

Doors open at 8pm, and the first band is on stage at 8.45pm.
