Impromptu visit for Discovery

The cruise ship Discovery, with 600 passengers on board, will call in to Kirkwall tomorrow,  Sunday, due to a weather-related diversion

“Team Orkney” has swung into action with tour and shuttle buses, meet-and-greet services and pier operations hastily arranged. The Discovery will arrive at approximately 10am, leaving again at  5pm.

This year, Orkney will receive 77 cruise ship port calls and 65,000 passengers and 20,000 crew are expected.
