ACAS called in over ferry pay dispute

The board of Orkney Ferries has agreed to seek the involvement of ACAS in an effort to resolve the pay dispute affecting services to the isles.

Unions involved have already indicated that they would support the involvement of ACAS in further negotiations.

Councillor Graham Sinclair, chairman of Orkney Ferries, said:  “The board’s decision is being communicated  to the unions and we hope this will be seen as a positive step forward.”
