Accident closes Kirkwall-Stromness road

The Kirkwall-Stromness road was closed for a time this afternoon after a road accident to the west of Kirkwall.

The emergency services attended the incident, just below Saverock, which was reported to police just after 12.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said the incident involved a lorry and a car, but that there were no serious injuries.
