Aker Solutions acquire Opus

Opus, the specialist processing company with a testing/development facility in Flotta, has been bought by Aker Solutions.

The acquisition, says the international oilfield service company, is “targeted at strengthening its technology portfolio in the process systems segment”.

David Merle, head of Aker Solutions’ process systems business, said: ”We have ambitious plans to increase growth in the process systems business, and strengthening our existing produced water treatment, R&D testing facilities and environmental services capability are important steps on that journey.”

Of Opus’s 40 employees, around 26 are based in Flotta.
