Assault victim transferred to Aberdeen

Kirkwall police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the early hours of Sunday monday.

The assault took place in the area of Great Western Road and the Kirkwall Travel Centre between 2.15am and 3am.

As a result of the assault, a 35-year-old man has been transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with significant head injuries.

Anyone who was in the area at the time, or may have witnessed the incident, is asked to contact Kirkwall Police Station on 872241 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
