Battling ORFC lose out to Aberdeenshire

Orkney Rugby Club’s First XV were beaten 27-18 by Aberdeenshire in a hard-fought match at Picky this afternoon.

Orkney were 10-0 ahead at half-time thanks to a James Linklater penalty and a Scott Rendall try, but Aberdeenshire came from behind in the second half to gain the lead.

Bruce Ruthven added a try late on for the hosts to complement a second-half penalty from Linklater, but Aberdeenshire survived a late Orkney surge to take the points.
