Comfortable win for ORFC

Orkney RFCs First XV enjoyed a deserved 51-14 victory over Gordonians in the RBS Caledonia Regional League Divison One clash at Pickaquoy this afternoon.

Following a scrappy opening few minutes, Orkney were rampant in the first half and were largely in control of a tense second half,with the hosts  scoring eight tries in 80 minutes.

Philip Ross and Andrew Cuddihy each scored two tries, with Scott Rendall, Alan Brown, David Ross and Jon Tait claiming one-a-piece.

Both of Gordonians breakaway tries came from passing errors and the Aberdeen side rarely threatened throughout the match.
