Deerness broadband restored

The fault that left 300 customers in Deerness without broadband when rats chewed through fibre-optic cables at the Tankerness exchange, has been repaired.

BT confirmed the damage to the cables, which proved more serious than first thought, had been fixed, with the broadband service resuming at about 1pm today, Tuesday.

The company apologised to customers for the break in service.
