A number of Orkney runners are heading south this weekend to take part in Sunday’s Edinburgh Marathon.

At least 20 runners from Orkney will be among the estimated 16,000 runners taking to the streets of Edinburgh to tackle the 26-mile capital city course.

Pictured above is a group of the runners, including some members of JogScotland Orkney, who are taking part in Sunday’s event. In the back row, from the left, are Liz Mackay, Alice Cant, Sylvia Robertson, Heather Scott, Mark Rendall, Ray Norris and William Leonard. Middle row, from the left, are Karen Walls, Claire Stevenson, Fiona Stout, Evelyn Grant, Morag Walker, Susan Webb and Ingrid Austin.

Front row, far left, is Karina Alexander and, on the far right, is Jennifer Flett. Bill Robertson and Laura Barnett will also be running the full marathon, while Isla Flett and Catherine Rendall are competing as part of a relay team with Alice and Heather, who are pictured above.
