Eighteen-hour endurance test to raise money for heart charities
An Orkney man is gearing up for a 18-hour test of endurance to raise money for charity.
Ed ‘Rambo’ Russell plans to cycle 120 miles from Inverness to John O’Groats, before kayaking seven miles across the Pentland Firth to Burwick, then running over 20 miles to Kirkwall.
Ed plans to set off from Inverness at 6pm tomorrow and be running into Kirkwall by lunchtime on Sunday.
Having already raised over £4,000, Ed hopes to reach a target of £5,000, which will be divided between the British Heart Foundation and the Orkney Heart Support Group.
Money can still be donated at collecting tins in the following places: Bruce’s Stores, Skipper’s Bar, the Kirkwall Hotel, Deerness Stores, the Quoyburray Inn, the Skerryvore and Heilendi medical practices, the Stromness Surgery, the Pickaquoy Centre and Jewson’s.
