First defeat of the season for Orkney FC

Orkney FC had their first defeat of the 2014-2015 season inflicted upon them in Caithness today. A rejigged Orkney squad was edged out 2-1 by Halkirk United.

The first-half had ended 0-0 before The Anglers took the lead in the second period, which was played under floodlights.

Chris Hellewell then equalised from range but Halkirk regained their lead in the final five minutes when they were awarded a penalty.

Jon Tait was also sent-off for a second bookable offence to compound Orkney’s misery.
