Flagstone repairs in Kirkwall and Stromness

Flagstone repairs have started in Stromness and Kirkwall — leading to sections of the street being closed whilst the work takes place.

Today (Monday) and Tuesday sees the area from John Street to the Pierhead in Stromness closed.

In Kirkwall, work will be carried out on Victoria Street from today to Wednesday.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout, however, the sections will be closed to vehicles from 9am to 12 noon and then again from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Later in the week, the work in Stromness is set to move from the Pierhead to Church Road from late Tuesday until Wednesday and then from Church Road to Hellihole on Thursday and Friday.

The final piece of work will see work done between Hellihole and the Ness on Monday, November 19.

Mended areas will be covered temporarily to allow the repairs to bed in.
