‘Focused consultation’ on Local Development Plan
Proposed changes to settlement boundaries and housing allocations in Finstown, Westray and Harray are the subject of a “focused consultation” launched by Orkney Islands Council today, Thursday.
The proposed changes follow a public consultation in July and August last year on the “Main Issues Report” – a planning  document that will lead to the adoption of a new Local Development Plan for Orkney in 2017.
In Finstown, the proposed change related to an increase the housing allocation size, which will result in a change to the settlement boundary. At Pierowall, in Westray, there are three minor boundary changes, while at Burnside, Harray, there is a proposed change to the southern settlement boundary.
For more information, and to see a map of the proposed boundary and allocation changes of the three areas, see www.orkney.gov.uk/Council/C/focused-consultation.htm.
Comments on the three proposed changes can be emailed to devplan@orkney.gov.uk
The consultation closes on Thursday, February 4.
