Football festival for Primary Four pupils
Primary Four pupils from Kirkwall, Shapinsay and the East Mainland will enjoy a football festival tomorrow, Wednesday, at Papdale Primary School.
The schools are taking part in The TESCO Bank Football Challenge, a programme run by the Scottish Football Association and Orkney’s Active Schools Team.
The festival, which will see pupils receiving coaching and playing four a-side games. Each group will have the opportunity to play games and receive coaching from Scottish Football Association (SFA) qualified coaches.
Active Schools co-ordinator, Cheryl Rafferty explained: “This programme promotes football and physical activity opportunities for primary school aged children, with a view to stimulating a lifetime involvement in the game.
“Our aim is to make this a memorable and worthwhile experience which helps to create a real desire to continue to play football in the pupils who take part.”
