Fourth Orkney Nature Festival begins on Monday
Orkney’s fourth Nature Festival kicks off tomorrow, Monday, with a busy week of events in store to celebrate the county’s wildlife.
The local RSPB Scotland team, who coordinate the festival, say that the 2016 festival will feature events from a variety of individuals, groups and business around Orkney — from sketching to bird-ringing; a trip into the Gloup to a cruise around Hoy on board the Hamnavoe.
Last year’s five-day festival attracted over 600 participants with a programme that featured kayaking, rockpooling, wildlife photography, small boat trips, walks, talks, archaeology workshops and more.
The festival runs until Monday, May 22.
