Guilty of nightclub assault

A Kirkwall man has been found guilty of assaulting a Fusion nightclub employee by spitting in his face.

Appearing at Kirkwall Sheriff Court this morning, Nathan John Jensson, 20, of Bosquoy Road, Kirkwall, denied the offence which took place on May 15.

Giving evidence, Jensson claimed he spat on the ground.

However, according to the nightclub employee there was no doubt Jensson spat at him, and this was supported by a witness to the incident.

Describing the assault as a “disgusting episode”, Sheriff Colin McClory fined Jensson £300 and ordered him to pay a further £200 in compensation.
