Happy Valley cottage restoration begins
Restoration work to the cottage at Happy Valley, in Stenness, means there will be some limits to access and parking this summer.
The roof, gables and chimneys of Bankburn Cottage, which sits at the heart of Happy Valley, are being restored with work due to start next week.
The cottage was home to Edwin Harrold, the man who created Happy Valley and welcomed many people to his home over his long life.
At the end of the work, the car park will be expanded to help meet the demand, Â however, for the duration of the works, which are expected to last until the end of September, there may be very little car parking available.
There will also be no access down the path next to the cottage. Instead, visitors will need to take an alternative path through the new plantings to the recently-repaired steps at the top of the burn.
