Heavy rain alert from Met Office

The Met Office has issued a weather alert, warning of very heavy rain in the county tomorrow, Friday.

According to the Yellow Alert: “Rain is expected to spread from the west on Thursday night, becoming heavy and persistent across the northeast during Friday. This may well lead to some flooding in places with disruption to travel.”

Although there is some uncertainty regarding the areas which will be affected, the Met Office is expecting widespread rainfall of 30-50mm (one to two inches), up to 80mm further south.
