Homecare consultation launched
Feedback is being requested as part of a consultation into the possibility of home care services being provided by an organisation other than Orkney Health and Care (OHAC).
During the two-month consultation period, views and ideas will be sought from people who use home care services, carers and staff, as well as the wider Orkney community.
This follows an independent study which recommended that OHAC — a partnership between Orkney Islands Council and NHS Orkney — should assess how best to provide home care in the county.
To take part in the consultation you can complete an online survey at www.orkney.gov.uk, send an email to ohacfeedback@orkney.gov.uk or phone the home care manager on 888390.
In addition, letters inviting feedback will be sent shortly to everyone who currently uses the home care service in Orkney and to current home care staff.
During the consultation, which closes on September 9, a number of drop-in meetings will be held at various locations in the county, to give people the chance to ask questions and pass on their views. The dates and venues will be announced at a later date.
