Improved signal for St Andrews
Those who live in the parish of St Andrews should be experiencing an improvement in mobile signal, according to Vodafone UK.
The East Mainland community is one of 35 areas named as part of a programme run by the mobile network company to improve signal in rural communities across Scotland.
Vodafone says that thanks to its Rural Open Sure Signal (ROSS) programme, areas which were previously in mobile not-spots now have much needed coverage. ROSS will enable Vodafone customers in St Andrews to access social media sites and the Internet via their mobile devices.
Jorge Fernandes, Vodafone UK chief technology officer, said: “We know mobile connectivity is important to rural communities and businesses, which is why we continue to invest heavily in our rural network. Our goal is to provide access to as many remote rural locations as possible where it is otherwise almost impossible to reach.”
