Information evening for St Magnus Festival volunteers

Would-be St Magnus Festival volunteers are invited to an information evening next week to find out more about volunteering opportunities at this year’s festival.

At the height of festival season, in midsummer, the number of volunteers involved — who are all Orkney residents — rises to over 250.

Organisers are holding an information event at The Reel in Kirkwall, on Wednesday, March 20, for anyone interested in helping out at the 2013 festival. Volunteers are needed as front of house ushers, programme-sellers, meeters and greeters, stage crew and to transport festival artists.

The organisers are also looking for more accommodation hosts to provide bed and breakfast accommodation for festival artists.

Anyone interested can go along to the Board Room at The Reel, Kirkwall, on Wednesday, March 20, from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.
