Invitation to meet the tourism team

Businesses interested in working with the national tourism organisation are being invited to an open evening in Kirkwall today, Tuesday, February 7.

The event, which includes presentations and the opportunity to chat to industry representatives, will allow people to find out more about VisitScotland and the Orkney Tourism Group and how businesses can work together to make the most of Orkney’s tourism potential.

The open evening will see Barbara Foulkes, island manager, give guests an overview of the Scottish Thistle Awards, while guests will be given an introduction to VisitScotland’s visitor services team. Guests will also be given an insight into VisitScotland’s local marketing campaigns as well as its quality assurance scheme.

The event takes place at the Kirkwall tourist information centre, on West Castle Street, Kirkwall, from 6pm-8pm.
