Engineering Manager

Scottish Sea Farms are a key employer throughout Orkney, and we pride ourselves on working to make a positive change to our employees and the local community. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to head up our engineering team and manage our engineering infrastructure throughout the region.
The role will be based at our yard in Hatston with travel across the Orkney estate. With the support of a team of engineers, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for the service and maintenance of our vessels and farming infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will drive success through excellent leadership skills. The ability to plan and prioritise should be matched with close attention to detail. Project management skills, Health & Safety Management, and strong interpersonal skills are amongst the key qualities required for this role.
The successful candidate will have at least five years’ practical experience in an engineering role with at least two years in a management role. Knowledge and understanding of a marine environment, although not essential, would be desirable.
Qualifications | A HNC/HND level engineering qualification, or equivalent, is required for this role. A good understanding of financial budgeting and CAPEX planning would be desirable.
