GENERAL MANAGER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, well-organised and enthusiastic individual to oversee the management and continued development of Orkney’s only livestock market.

You will work closely with all areas of the business as well as establishing a positive relationship with the local farming community and our customers further afield. You will be expected to regularly liaise with the Board of Directors and to manage a small team of permanent staff and a larger team of casual staff.

This permanent post is full time (35 hours per week) although additional hours will be required during peak livestock periods and a flexible approach to working is essential during this time. The salary will be negotiable, based on previous experience, and you will be entered into the generous company pension scheme.
