Kirkwall Lifeboat called to fishing vessel

Kirkwall Lifeboat was called to a grounded local creel boat earlier today, Saturday.

The Jaklyn was off Deerness this afternoon when the lifeboat was called to the scene, shortly after 2.30pm.

At the scene, the RNLI crew launched the inflatable Y-boat from the lifeboat to attach a tow line to the vessel.

The fishing boat was pulled clear, and made her own way home, having not been damaged.

The lifeboat was back in Kirkwall, refuelled and ready for service, at 4.30pm.
