Lifeboat helps group marooned at Brough of Birsay
Stromness Lifeboat was called out this morning to aid a group who had become marooned on the Brough of Birsay at high water.
The lifeboat was launched at 11.45am and headed north to help the group of four, who had been spotted from the shore.
The lifeboat’s inflatable Y-boat was launched and did two runs from the Brough to mainland Orkney, with the lifeboat returning to Stromness harbour at 1.40pm.
