Lifeboat launched after report of missing diver

The Stromness lifeboat was launched at 11.11am this morning to go to the aid of a missing diver in Burra Sound, between Graemsay and Hoy.

The lifeboat arrived on the scene a few minutes later to find that the diver had surfaced by himself and was being recovered by the dive boat.

Needing to give no medical assistance, the lifeboat returned to Stromness.
