Loganair confirms longer delays
Orkney MSP Liam McArthur has received more information from Loganair on recent delays to flights between Orkney and the Scottish mainland.
Following complaints from constituents, Mr McArthur raised the problem with the airline.
He explained: “Last month, Loganair agreed to look into both the number of delays this year, and the length of those delays compared to previous years. Their analysis has shown that while the number of delays remains largely the same as in the past, it also confirms that the delays experienced in recent months have been longer.
“I welcome this clarification from Loganair and more importantly the commitment from the airline’s management that it is looking at what can be done to reduce the number and the length of delays. These are lifeline services, after all, and delays not only cause inconvenience but can result in anything from missed hospital appointments to lost work.”
