Longhope Lifeboat safely tows fishing vessel ashore

RNLI Longhope was called out to a trapped fishing vessel this afternoon.

According to HM Coastguard, the lifeboat was launched at around 1pm to aid a fishing boat which had become entangled in ropes.

Another vessel also came to the assistance of the trapped boat, sending down a diver to cut the propeller free from the ropes.

Just after 2pm, the crew of RNLI Longhope were able to safely tow the fishing boat back to Longhope harbour.
