Merry Dancers caper across the Milky Way
Due to poor weather, we in the Northern Isles were denied a full view of the brilliant display of the aurora October 7/8, seen as far south as Mid-Wales and elsewhere in the south.
However, there was a limited repeat performance on October 8/9, with an intense northern auroral glow with banding and bright “patches” mimicking the Milky Way high up in the south-western sky.
