A delighted Andrew Laird, of Mossbank farm, claimed the title of champion of the showyard at today’s South Ronaldsay & Burray Agricultural show with a April 2013 born, Limousin cross, stot calf.
Although the show saw torrential rain in its final hours, it was a successful day for Mr Laird who, earlier in the day, claimed the top cattle prize with the stot and also the top poultry prize with a call duck.
The reserve champion of the yard this year went to the overall champion horse Dairylough Lady Whinhill, a two-year-old Clydesdale filly owned by Ivy Cromarty of Heathervale.
