MSP urges support for wild geese petition
Highlands and Islands MSP and convener of the Scottish Parliament’s cross party crofting group, Jamie McGrigor, has urged crofters and farmers in Orkney to have their say on a petition on the issue of damage caused to crops by increasing wild geese numbers.
The petition, developed by the Scottish Crofting Federation, will be submitted to the Scottish Parliament’s public petitions committee.
Mr McGrigor said: “I would encourage those who have direct experience of the damage that can be caused by wild geese to have their say through the petition before it closes on Sunday.”
