Murder accused makes no plea

A South Ronaldsay man has been remanded in custody after appearing at Kirkwall Sheriff Court charged with murder.

Erland Fraser, 49, made no plea when he appeared in private this Tuesday afternoon.

The case has been committed for further examination and will call again within the next eight days.

This follows police reports of the death of a 21-year-old man, known locally as William Fraser, in South Ronaldsay on Sunday.
