MV Alfred headed for home following damage repairs
MV Alfred is on her way home to St Margaret’s Hope from Belfast, Pentland Ferries has confirmed.
The passenger ferry was taken to Northern Ireland for repairs after she ran aground on the isle of Swona, last month. She is expected to be back in port tomorrow afternoon.
At the time, Pentland Ferries reported that the vessel had sustained damage to her bulbous bow as a result of the incident, which is being investigated by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.
A spokeswoman for Pentland Ferries said: “We’re pleased to report that MV Alfred is now en route from Belfast to St Margaret’s Hope, expected in port tomorrow afternoon.
“We very much look forward to bringing the vessel back into service as soon as possible.”
