Prehistoric remains unearthed during Ness roadworks

The remains of a suspected Neolithic building have been unearthed during roadworks on the Ness of Brodgar.

Traces of suspected wall lines were uncovered by workmen creating an additional passing place on the Ness, directly opposite the entrance to the existing archaeological excavation site.

The discovery will the examined and recorded by local archaeologists before the roadworks resume.
