New Opus contracts

A specialist company, which has its testing and development facilities on Flotta, has announced that it has secured several major new contract.

According to Opus, although the testing of new technologies under these new contracts will take place across the globe, Flotta will play a part in testing the Apache Energy’s floating production, storage and offloading vessel Ningaloo Vision.

Norwegian oil giant Statoil have also chosen Opus to test produced water treatment technology in their Mariner and Bressay fields.

The work, worth £65,000, that will be done at the Flotta facility will simulate conditions in the Mariner/Bressay fields and also those in the Norwegian Asgard field and test the suitability of three different hydrocyclone technology procedures.
