New website accompanies launch of 2017 ‘Islander’
Over 250 people turned out for the official launch of the 2017 The Orkney Islander in Kirkwall today.
At the event, hosted by VisitScotland, members of the public joined magazine producers, advertisers and contributors for a first look at this year’s free publication.
The magazine is now in its 30th year and its editor, Leah Seator, explained today that the 2017 launch was accompanied by the unveiling of a new, complementary website at www.orkneyislander.co.uk.
“The website is an online home for the magazine and a way of putting the world in touch with us and our advertisers. We hope that, in time, this will become a comprehensive guide to services in Orkney,” she said.
“We have big plans and what we are able to show today is just the very beginning.”
The Orkney Islander is available, free, from outlets across the county, including The Orcadian Bookshop and the Print Centre at Hatston.
The digital version can also be accessed here.
