NHS Orkney meeting waiting time targets

NHS Orkney is meeting national targets to reduce patient waiting times, according to figures released this week.

The local health authority is already exceeding the 18 week referral to treatment target of 90 per cent, set by NHS Scotland, which will be in place from December 31 this year.

In June, 98.5 per cent of NHS Orkney patients were treated within the 18 week time frame, and for the last six months the figure has not dropped below a 97 per cent referral rate.
