Hamnavoe still out of action as investigations into mechanical failure continue
Serco NorthLink’s ferry Hamnavoe will remain tied up in Stromness on Monday and Tuesday while investigations into a mechanical failure continue.
The vessel has not sailed since Thursday evening, when a problem developed while the vessel was travelling from Scrabster to Stromness. As a result all Pentland Firth crossings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday were cancelled.
According to NorthLink, further assessments are due to take place but these may conclude that further remedial work is necessary to get the vessel back into operation.
