One new COVID case recorded

Orkney has recorded a new case of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to Scottish Government figures.

The patient is a resident living within Orkney but NHS Orkney has confirmed that it is not linked to the two positive cases recorded on Wednesday.

The new case brings Orkney’s total number of positive tests since the start of the pandemic to 42.

Orkney remains in Level Three of Scottish Government’s restrictions.

NHS Orkney has a direct phone line for people with symptoms to book a COVID-19 test.

This is 888211 between 8am and 6pm Monday-Friday, and until 12pm on a Saturday.
