Orkney FC to dust off the cobwebs against Alness United
Orkney FC are due back in action this Saturday after a break of nearly a month, as they are set to face Alness United at Dalmore Park.
Orkney’s last scheduled match away to Halkirk United was postponed due to the weather conditions, meaning that the men in red’s last competitive outing was a 2-0 defeat to Invergordon on October 31.
The islanders will be hoping to put their travelling blues behind them, as all three defeats they have suffered this season in the North Caledonian League have occurred on the road, losing 4-1 to Golspie Sutherland and 3-1 to Thurso before the Invergordon defeat.
However, third-placed Orkney will be quietly confident of victory against a side that has lost five out of five and sit rock bottom with no points. Orkney beat Alness United in a thrilling 5-3 victory earlier in the season and can take confidence from their 100 per cent win record against their opponents from five games.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 12.30pm.
