Orkney food and drink showcased

This weekend’s star-studded BBC Good Food Show in Glasgow is set to experience a taste of Orkney, with local gin, cheese and bakery goods all on the menu.

Three Orcadian food and drink businesses will showcase products at the event, which is takes place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre from Friday, November 4 until Sunday November 6.

The Orkney Bakery (Argo’s), The Island Smokery and Orkney Distilling, makers of Kirkjuvagr Gin, will all be in attendence, supported by Orkney Food and Drink.

The Orkney contingent will share a platform with over 100 exhibitors from around the country and a host of celebrities, including chefs Tom Kitchin and Michael Roux Jr; Great British Bake Off judge, Paul Hollywood; and MasterChef judge, John Torode.

Pop-up restaurants, cookery demonstrations, book signings and product samplings are all included in the event, expected to attract thousands of visitors.
