Orkney RFC beat Mackie Academy FPs

Orkney battled to a 10-8 league win over Mackie Academy FPs in atrocious conditions at Pickaquoy this afternoon.

As gale force winds and heavy showers  battered the centre pitch, a small group of diehard supporters watched on as tries from Steven Budge and Andrew Cuddihy either side of half-time were just enough to edge the result.

Mackie scored a try in the dying minutes to take the score to 10-8, but from the restart Orkney won possession and held on for the win.
