Orkney RFC hope to pile more anguish on RHC

Orkney RFC embark on an another away trip to the Central Belt once more this Saturday, as they prepare to take on Edinburgh side RHC RFC.

The islanders will head down without their inspirational captain Alan Brown however, who looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after dislocating his knee in last Saturday’s victory over Lasswade. Despite Brown’s absence, Orkney are boosted by several faces returning to the squad, notably ORFC’s former Development Officer and holder of 39 Orkney caps Bruce Ruthven. Edinburgh-based brothers Tom and Sam Croy are joined by Robbie Firth — now plying his trade for BT National League Division 1 side GHA — in the 19-man squad.

Fifth-placed Orkney will hope to pile more misery on RHC who last week suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Highland and have suffered three defeats from four matches this season, leaving the Edinburgh side in ninth place.

The Orkney squad to face RHC: Kevin Sinclair, Scott Rendall, Craig Rendall, Sean Cursiter, Craig Stout, Cammy Gray, Danny Bain, Robbie Firth, William Thomson, Chris Guthrie, Adam Watt, Graham Poke, Scott Russell, Tom Croy, Philip Ross, Jamie Bruce, Ben Sutherland, Sam Croy, and Bruce Ruthven.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 12 noon.
