Orphir road reopened following road accident

Police have confirmed that the Kirkwall to Orphir road has been reopened following an accident this morning.

The accident – involving a car and a cyclist –  occurred at the turn off from the Old Scapa Road and the A964 and saw the cyclist transferred to Kirkwall’s Balfour hospital with minor injuries .

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the collision contact Police Scotland on 101 or drop in at Kirkwall police station.
